The Michel Family

Back to all Family Stories

Alma Michel and Noe Michel-Iglesias live with their two children Evelyn, 4, and Noe, 1, in a two-bedroom duplex. Alma is a stay-at-home mother, while Noe works for Safeway. They want to move out of their small home because they live in an unsafe neighborhood with regular burglaries. There is also a mildew problem under the floorboards of their home, which has caused their son respiratory problems and multiple hospital visits. Some of their windows are broken, which lets the heat escape quickly, and the heater rarely works, which leaves high electricity bills. They are excited about their new house that will solve all of these problems and give them much more space.
