Our Families
The Oo Family
Than and Khet Khet met in a refugee camp in Thailand. Than is a co-machine operator at a packaging company. Khet Khet is a hotel housekeeper. They moved into their Habitat home at Lents in January 2010. The apartment they were living in with their daughter Khet, 8, and son Aung, 2, had electrical and plumbing problems. The bedrooms had no lighting and had inadequate heat. “I will be happy to have my children grow up in a nice and healthy Habitat for Humanity home,” Khet Khet said. She says she looks forward to homeownership because it will allow her family to live “happily ever after.”
