Family Focus: The Beng-Mou Family
With constantly rising rent and high utility expenses, Emanuel Beng and Abuk Mou work diligently to support their five children. Emanuel is a custodian at a building in downtown Portland and Abuk works for a uniform production company. Even though both of them work full-time, it has been difficult for them to make ends meet. The family has rented a house in southeast Portland for the past four years that is in poor condition. Learn more.
Family Bios: The Aung Family
Htay Thien Aung and Sou Cheong have two children, Phay Thien Kyaw, 7, and Richard Tun, 2. They are now living at Lents Landing. Before, they lived in a two-bedroom apartment with ant and mice problems. Due to other problems with the apartment, they all slelpt in one bedroom and it got overcrowded. Htay Thien works full time for a pallet company, while Sou takes care of their two sons. They completed their sweat equity hours and moved into their new home in January. Congratulations!
