Director of Resources Celebrates 10 years with Habitat
This year marks the 10th anniversary of Erika Read, Habitat for Humanity Portland/Metro East’s Director of Resources. She is the first employee of our affilate to reach the 10-year milestone, and over the last decade she has been extremely instrumental in growing our affiliate into the outstanding organization it is today. In fact, in just the past five years, she has grown our individual giving program by 800%
Thank you Erika for all of your hard work that you have done and will continue to do for our affiliate.
–Steve Messinetti, Executive Director Habitat for Humanity Portland/Metro East

Mary Bounvassana lives with her two children Jeremias, 12, and Alicia, 10. Mary is a single mom and works as a bank teller. They live in a two-bedroom apartment that is poorly insulated, with an extensive mold problem which has caused both of her children asthma. The bathroom sink, bathtub, and toilet all get clogged due to poor plumbing. Mary and her children would love to move into a new house where they could all have separate rooms and a safe area to play.
