Our New Strategic Plan + Hiring Chief Operating Officer


This year Habitat launched a bold 2017-2021 strategic plan that outlines our goals for tripling the number of people we serve in order to address the growing housing crisis in the Portland metro region. Habitat’s work is more vital in our community than ever before. To meet our city’s new demands, we must work in new, innovative ways. Through groundbreaking partnerships with financial institutions and community organizations, we will work together to dramatically increase opportunities for local families to become homeowners. This plan creates an even more robust and holistic homeownership program that supports the revitalization of neighborhoods. With your help, we will build a Portland that we can all be proud to call home.
This bold vision requires Habitat to shift the way we work to increase our impact in our community. Right now, we are hiring a new position—Chief Operating Officer (COO)—that will help implement our strategic plan. The COO is responsible for leading the organizational change and rapid expansion, while supporting the CEO and the leadership team in executing the plan. The COO is responsible for implementation, oversight and execution of Habitat’s internal operations, programs, administration and financial management. This is a critical time for our City and for Habitat for Humanity Portland/Metro East, and we look forward to bringing on a COO who is passionate about our new vision.
