Habitat’s Portland ReStore Secures New Location SE Portland – Volunteers Needed Now

ReStoreThe Portland Habitat ReStore has signed a lease on a new site for its store and will be relocating from its Morrison Street address. It took about three years to find a suitable location not too far away from the current store and yet a little farther east. The new site is behind Plaza 205, at 10445 Cherry Blossom Drive, and was once a post office mail processing center.
The new building is fully enclosed to give the store a controlled interior environment and retail-store feel. Anyone who’s been to the Portland store in the cold of winter and heat of summer can imagine how much the staff is looking forward to moving into the new space.
Although a firm date for moving hasn’t yet been determined, the Portland Habitat ReStore will most likely move after first of the year. Customers and donors will receive plenty of notice before the Morrison Street store closes, and you’ll receive updates as the new site progresses.

Want to help?

If demolition is your thing, bring your work gloves and help tear down and clean up partition walls in the new building. Volunteer opportunities at the new location are available Wednesday through Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.To sign up, contact Malia at malia@pdxrestore.org or 503.283.6247 x6. Malia is asking everyone interested to sign up in advance in case the schedule changes, and so she knows how many workers will be onsite and can plan accordingly.
The new store is behind Mall 205. To get there, turn south on SE 102nd from either Stark or Washington streets. The entrance is through the black  gate. Wear work gloves, sturdy close-toed shoes and clothes you don’t mind getting dirty. Bring lunch and a water bottle.
