Volunteer Spotlight: Sarah McDonagh

sarah-mcdonagh
Sarah McDonagh has been volunteering with Habitat for Humanity Portland Metro East since June of 2016. She first got involved with Habitat her Freshman year of college where she went on a service trip to work the with the Spokane affiliate.
As a student at Portland State, she wanted to stay involved with Habitat and was recommended to help at the Portland Metro/East affiliate by her advisor.
Sarah works in the Homeownership department, assisting primarily with community outreach and family selection. During her time with Habitat, Sarah has helped process over 300 homeownership applications. She has also had the opportunity to assist with 16 home visits.
“This time around has been very different because when I first worked with Habitat it was always on the construction sites; the biggest take-away from this position is being able to work directly with the families.”
Overall, Sarah has made a tremendous contribution during one of the busiest times for our homeownership team—family selection.
Sarah looks forward to continuing her work with Habitat and wishes to remain involved for a very long time.
