Women Build
Women Build works in partnership with Habitat for Humanity Portland/Metro East to plan and build a home in partnership with a Habitat family entirely by crews of women volunteers. The Women Build program engages women of every race, age, and skill level to plan and build all aspects of a healthy and affordable home with an eligible family.
Through participating in the project, women have the opportunity to gain skills and confidence by working with an all-women team of crew leaders, volunteers, and tradeswomen in a supportive and empowering building environment. Check out the Women Build FAQ for more info!
Get involved with the Women Build!
Construction Training for WomenLowe’s is a national sponsor of Habitat’s Women Build program. Two of our local stores – Delta Park and Wood Village – are excited to get involved by hosting training classes for women. Women are invited to attend any or all of the classes to learn new skills or brush up an old ones! Each class is about an hour long and is free to attend – though a donation to Habitat’s Women Build would be appreciated! To sign up for the Women Build training classes at Lowes, please visit our online calendar. Spaces are limited so sign up today!
