On September 13th and 14th, Habitat for Humanity Portland/Metro East and Thrivent will be partnering with The Arbor mobile home park to beautify their community space and enhance their playground—everyone is invited! The Arbor has been a thriving part of NE Portland’s Cully neighborhood since 1947 and is proud to be an all age community that offers affordable home ownership. Recently, millions in state funds were approved for St. Vincent de Paul to purchase the park, which ensures stable rents and greater opportunities for residents to organize and have a voice in decision-making at the park.

Habitat and Thrivent are expanding their national partnership with Building on Faith into an opportunity for all people to join together to help strengthen our community. These community improvement projects are designed to make an immediate impact on local housing and community needs. Across the country during the month of September, volunteers will participate in different types of projects with Habitat such as homebuilding, rehab or repair projects, park and playground cleanup, landscaping and more. Since 2005, Thrivent and its members have contributed over 5.85 million volunteer hours and over $253 million to improve communities through affordable housing solutions.
