Construction Update: We’re making progress in Portland

News from Cully Place in NE Portland
We’re almost ready to shift gears at Cully Place as progress on Phase I nears completion. All seven homes in this Northeast Portland community will house 20 Portlanders who put in 300 hours of sweat equity building their home alongside volunteers and the construction crew. Soon, they will purchase these homes with an affordable mortgage.
Phase II construction of eight homes is currently in progress. We’re framing second story walls on one triplex that will soon have trusses and a roof installed. Another triplex is primed for inspections so we can start the insulation process and we’re just starting interior work on the last duplex.
“We have a special year ahead and we firmly believe there is no substitute for hands-on experience on the construction sites,” Construction Manager Fernando says.

News from Olin in N Portland
Having just broken ground on the Olin build site in North Portland in late May, we’ve made swift progress on what will be a 12-home community in the Portsmouth neighborhood. Our construction crew and volunteers have poured the foundation, framed the first floors in both buildings, and are just about ready to begin framing the second story.
“This is a great neighborhood to live in,” Construction Site Supervisor Scott says. “Schools and public transit are nearby and every neighbor I’ve met is happy to see us building here.”
PLUS! We’ve just broken ground on another community in North Portland. Check out more information about our current site located at N. Interstate Avenue and N. Kilpatrick Street where we will build 30 new affordable homes.
Stay tuned for more construction updates!
