In order to protect the health and safety of our community and staff, our office will be closed to walk-ins until further notice. We will schedule face-to-face meetings with homebuyers/homeowners when it is absolutely essential. Thank you for your understanding.
We continue to hold the health and safety of our volunteers, staff, supporters, and partner families as our number one priority. In compliance with Governor Brown’s stay-at-home order and out of public safety concern, all volunteer shifts are temporarily suspended until further notice, including on the build, at the office, and at our ReStores. We continue to evaluate and navigate this developing situation and comply with all guidelines from Oregon Health Authority and the Centers for Disease Control. We will post updates as needed.
Homeownership Education Classes
We have canceled all April homeownership education classes. These closures may be prolonged as circumstances evolve. We will continue to monitor the situation and notify all class participants via email.
HopeBuilder Breakfast Canceled
Due to the COVID-19 crisis, we have made the decision to cancel our annual HopeBuilder Breakfast. In light of Governor Brown’s phased approach for reopening our state for live events, we feel it is best to prioritize the health and safety of our community and cancel this event.. Our keynote speaker, Ann Curry, has graciously offered to speak at next year’s event on April 28, 2021.
The HopeBuilder Breakfast is critical for raising funds to support Habitat for Humanity’s work here in Portland. Without it, we have a funding gap of $250,000. Please consider making a gift to our Safety of Home campaign to ensure that everyone in our community has a safe and affordable place to call home. Rally your friends to support our work so that the construction of safe homes for 200 people can continue!
Should you have any questions, please contact Sarah Rothenfluch at email@example.com
Due to concerns over the spread of COVID-19, ReStores in the Portland Metro Area will temporarily close effective 6pm, March 20. That includes ReStore locations in Portland, Beaverton and Vancouver. The Gresham ReStore closed March 16.
Residential donation pickups will also be canceled until further notice. Donors will be contacted.
We have made this difficult decision out of concern for the health and safety of our customers, donors, volunteers and staff. We want to do our part to reduce their risk of exposure to the coronavirus, and reinforce healthy communities.
We will continue to monitor the status of COVID-19, and keep you informed of developments as it pertains to reopening our stores. In the time being, we will be exploring alternative options to provide deeply discounted home improvement products that will allow us to continue to support our mission to build affordable Habitat homes. In the future, look for the possibility of new online sales features and the resumption of free business donation pickups.
Please stay tuned, and check for updates on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and at pdxrestore.org.
Thank you for your continued support of the Habitat for Humanity through the Portland Metro ReStores. We will miss you.
