Dear Breakfast Table Host,

Thank you for agreeing to be a Table Host at this year’s 2017 HopeBuilder Breakfast on Wednesday, April 26, 2017! We have a great program planned – including moving testimonials from partner families, an inspiring keynote from Kiva co-founder Jessica Jackley, and an update on Habitat’s involvement in our local community. We are hoping to recruit 100 volunteers to help us fill the room this year, to have our attendance at 1,000! Your involvement in this grassroots effort to spread the message of Habitat for Humanity Portland/Metro East is appreciated so very much!

This breakfast is so much more than a fundraising event – it’s a chance for us to see the Habitat mission stir in the hearts of 1,000 people. At the end of one hour, we are all thinking – “This is my community, I need to do something!” – and there is such power in that.

As you work to fill your table with friends and colleagues, please keep in mind that you are making a tangible difference in the lives of people who are not looking for a hand out; they just want a chance to escape poverty with a hand up. Many families are currently living in overcrowded homes often with inefficient heat, plumbing and electricity. They are ready to get to work with volunteers to build their new homes. The funds raised and friends made at this breakfast will be critical in helping Habitat build 30 homes and repair up to 25 more in the Portland Metro area this year.

As a Table Host, there are only 4 things I need from you…

  • Fill your table of 10!
  • Send out the confirmation card. As soon as someone says yes, email them the link to the Confirmation on our website (attached to your host packet e-mail).
  • Make your reminder emails or calls. One week prior to the event, email or call all of your guests and remind them the breakfast is the following Wednesday.
  • When your table is full, send your guest names to We will use this list only to create nametags for your table. The list should include first, last and company name. We only save a seat for those whose names we have received.
