Business & Corporate Engagement Opportunities

There are many ways that businesses support our work at Habitat for Humanity. Whether you’re on the construction site, building playhouses, or supporting our events, your actions are making a difference in the lives of families and individuals in need of a decent place to live.

We continue to hold the health and safety of our volunteers, staff, supporters, and partner families as our number one priority. In compliance with Governor Brown’s stay-at-home order and out of public safety concern, all volunteer shifts are temporarily suspended until further notice, including on the build sites, at the office, and at our ReStores. We continue to evaluate and navigate this developing situation and comply with all guidelines from Oregon Health Authority and the Centers for Disease Control. We will post updates as needed.

The construction of our projects will continue. If you have questions about this situation, please reach out to Cassie Punnett, Volunteer and Business Engagement Manager, at cassie@habitatportlandmetro.org. Thank you for understanding and we appreciate your support. Take care and be well.

Team Builder Programs

Build-Site Experience

  • Full day, 6.5-hour builds offered Thursday—Saturday, 8:30am—3:00pm.
  • 5 – 30 participants
  • Cost: $3,000, depending on group size

Every helping hand on the construction site builds a stronger community for Portland families and individuals to flourish. From framing and raising walls, to carefully applying the last coat of paint, every task has a purpose. Habitat homes are largely built by volunteers; no experience is necessary. Habitat’s skilled construction staff will guide you through all tasks, big or small. No matter your tool, be it paintbrush or hammer, at the end of the day, you can look back on your progress and know your efforts are building strength and self-reliance through homeownership. Come build with us today!

“Seeing the families that will own the home when you are done is a great feeling that stays with you and keeps you coming back to Habitat. I think the increase every year in [our employees’] participation is a testament to the satisfaction that we are getting from the team build experience.”

-James Burnham, Travelers Insurance

Having a safe place to play is important for every child. That’s why the Playhouse Experience invites teams of volunteers to assemble and decorate children’s playhouses, which are then donated to families through partner nonprofits. All of our playhouses are built to be wheelchair accessible. Volunteers can show off their creativity by decorating each playhouse to fit the fun theme chosen by the recipient family, along with working together on tasks such as shingling the roof or attaching the playhouse trim. Your team’s Playhouse Experience donation not only gives children a space to call their own, it directly supports building more decent, affordable homes in the Portland Metro area.

“Salesforce values volunteering and finding opportunities to give back to our community, and what better way than to have fun creating a playhouse for a deserving family right here in Portland. This is the first of many playhouses our Portland office will be building for Habitat for Humanity, we’re so excited this program is now local to us!”

  • 5—15 participants
  • Cost: $1,500

You don’t need a hammer to build a house! Habitat for Humanity ReStores raise money to build homes through the sale of donated new and used home improvement goods. In this fast-paced environment, your group will help sort and organize merchandise such as furniture, appliances, hardware, power tools, and clothing, or work on special projects based on the day’s inventory. With the help of volunteers like you, Habitat ReStores divert thousands of tons of reusable materials from ending up in landfills each year. It’s hard work, but it’s also great fun because you know your efforts are about building community, and building it together. One thing is certain—with the ReStore Experience, every day offers something new!
