Home Repair Program Prepares for Winter

After a late summer, Portland rains are finally arriving. This means Habitat for Humanity’s Home Repair Program is preparing for winter projects- everything from small maintenance to critical repairs. This program is part of Habitat’s five year commitment to Cully, which has already completed over 16 repair and preservation projects this year. Low-income homeowners partner with Habitat to receive a 0%-interest loan, or matched savings account for projects like roof repair, landscaping, painting, and window repair. Smaller projects are even eligible for a sliding-scale discount. The Home Repair Program is currently accepting applications on a rolling first-come, first-served basis. To qualify, homeowners must live in the Cully neighborhood and earn up to 80% of the Portland median family income (about $55,500 a year for a family of four).

To receive an application or get more details, call Eddie Barnhart at 503-287-9529 ex. 39.
