Did you know Habitat homes are now permanently affordable? We’re committed to a Portland Metro region that is affordable to families and individuals living on low incomes–not just today, but for generations to come. In partnership with Proud Ground, our new permanent affordability model will allow Habitat homeowners to continue building equity in their homes, while also ensuring that the home is affordable to the next buyer. This guarantees affordable neighborhoods into the future.

“We are excited to partner with a nationally recognized, local nonprofit,” Steve Messinetti, Habitat for Humanity Portland/Metro East President and CEO, said.  “This is a big step toward helping current residents remain in their neighborhoods as housing costs escalate across our city.”

Our homes currently underway in the Cully neighborhood will be Habitat’s first permanently affordable neighborhood. By solidifying affordable communities in Portland, we help maintain mixed-income communities and strengthen our city.
