On August 13th, 2015, Habitat for Humanity Portland/Metro East spent the evening dedicating the recently completed homes at Trillium Court to the seven families who partnered with Habitat to purchase their new homes. The night also served as an opportunity to honor the hundreds of volunteers who offered their time and service during the construction process.
With a delicious barbecue provided by Parr Lumber, community members, volunteers and families took part in home tours and heard speeches from City Housing Commissioner Dan Saltzman, State Treasurer Ted Wheeler, and Habitat Portland President & CEO Steve Messinetti about the positive impact Trillium Court has had on its community in SW Portland.
In a short key ceremony, each family was presented the keys to their new homes by the organizations and companies that sponsored them, including Erickson, Wells Fargo, Walsh Construction Co., Home Forward, and Interfaith Build. With a blessing led by Father Mike of The Madeleine Parish, the homes were properly dedicated and ready to move in. Habitat would like to thank the volunteers and donors who made Trillium Court possible and congratulate our partner families on their new homes!
